Start with your front door.

This is a great place to start because it can set the tone for how much more decoration you want, as well as the overall theme. There are so many wreaths and door decorations that you can purchase at general type stores or craft stores for not too much money! If you like to make your own crafts, try getting a plane wreath and shopping for things you want to decorate your wreath with! You can use bows, ornaments, mistletoe, and sparkly foliage to make your wreath extra festive! No one else in the neighborhood will have one like you! There are also inexpensive wreath holders to make sure you don’t scratch your door!

Once, you have your wreath or door decoration finalized (or before if you really feel like it). You might want to put up some Christmas lights. There are pretty common when it comes to decorating for end of the years celebrations! There are quite a few different types of lights for you to choose from. You can find mini lights in white or different colors, large c7 lights (think standard Christmas light type), christmas-house-554726_1280.jpgicicle lights, lighted decorations such as a deer made out of lights, and so on. All are great options and depend on what you like the most. A great tip is to plan ahead for next year and get clearanced lights the year before!

Before you go out and buy a lot of lights or get in too deep with all the excitement, take a look at the available outlets and electrical power you have. You don’t want to overload the system. You may need to purchase a heavy duty outdoor extension cord if your outside outlet isn’t close enough to where you want your lights.
