What to do with all your space you have in the backyard? We have the solution that doubles as a boredom buster for your kids and for you! people-1230872_1920.jpgWe put together some of the most fun backyard games to help you kick your spring, summer, and celebrations off right!

Painted Twister

One of the best parts of being outside is that there is less worry about messes. One of our favorite outdoor games is a twist on a classic. Take the Twister mat outside and pour color-matching paint on the circles before getting started! Or if you don’t want to get that messy you can try painting circles on the lawn to take the part of the Twister mat and get started! One thing that is nice about painting your own circles is that you can make as many as you want and you can alter the size of them to better fit the participants!

Giant Games

Not sure what it is about how we have to make everything giant when we take it outside but you can make a giant version of nearly any of your favorite games. Chess, checkers, ring toss, and many others! A simple game to make is a giant Jenga set. Many home improvement type or construction stores will cut boards to the length that you want. Makes for easy game pieces! Try spicing up your set by painting the giant pieces fun colors!

Obstacle Courses

One fun thing to do either with some competitive and active adults or some younger kids, is to put together an age appropriate obstacle course! Kids are sure to have fun running around through the obstacles and racing their siblings and friends. Make a course for adults that is harder and matches the athletic ability of your participants, you are sure to get a few laughs, especially if there is adult beverages involved!

Teach Your Kids Your Favorite Games

A great bonding moment for you and your kids or family is to share your favorite backyard games that you grew up on! Times are changing and many of the games you played as a child won't be remembered if you don’t share them with your kids! Pull out those old books that describe how to play sardines, kick the can, tag, red rover, or various others! Teach your kids or get your friends together to play a backyard baseball game or some badminton.
