Mother’s Day is over, but it’s not too late…

May 12th is at its end, but it’s never too late to give your mother the gift of lawn care. Flowers are a beautiful sentiment, but lawn care is a gift that continues to give throughout the year. Especially if your mother works full-time or is not able to physically handle manual labor, hiring the work to be done professionally is a welcomed relief from front yard or backyard eyesores. Lawns are meant to be enjoyed, but when mom does not have time to care for the lawn, the gift of lawn care is perfect.

6 Lawn Care Ideas for Mom

New Sod

Instant lawns are an amazing gift for anyone who is suffering from lack of time or ability to care for one’s property. Sod transforms barren earth to rich, thick carpets of green grass. Just make sure your gift of sod is coupled with a way to care for it (i.e. sprinkler systems or mowing services).

Landscaping

If you mother is like many others, she has kept the grass in her front yard decently-maintained, but this has only happened at the expense of gardens and other landscape features. Give the gift of landscaping, and provide your mother with low-maintenance garden options that look good even when she’s busy or tired.

Mowing services

Sometimes all a mom needs is someone to do one of her many chores, and taking care of the mowing for a while can ease some of her burden. Mowing services are a versatile option because you can do it yourself if you don’t want to pay.

Fertilizer

If your mom already spends a good amount of time in her yard, she may benefit from some professional advice and fertilizer application. This adds the finishing touches to her efforts.

Soil amendment

It may seem odd to give the gift of soil amendment, but for those who need it, it is perfect. People often choose soil amendment as a last resort, but you can take some of the toil out of yard work by making sure the soil is right.

Weed control

Lastly, weed control is an amazing way to pamper your mom. Whether it’s offering manual weed pulling or effective herbicide treatments, weed control gets rid of pesty plants. This leaves more room for lawn enjoyment.

Lawn care is a non-traditional gift, but if you’ve already missed Mother’s Day, it’s time to pull out the creativity and give your mother a gift that she will celebrate all summer long.
