Can’t Get to the Store? Order Lawn Care from Your Couch!

Just because there’s a pandemic, it doesn’t mean that your grass has stopped growing. In fact, many people have a lot more time to do yard work now that they are staying home. That is why it is important to order lawn care and lawn care supplies when the stores are closed.

Many stores that are labelled as non-essential are having to close their doors in a social distancing effort. Some stores have curbside pickup, and when that’s the case, using these services can do a lot to support small business.

Whether you are ordering locally or from a large national website, it is important to plan your lawn care in advance. This will allow you to buy in bulk at a discount for some lawn care needs, while efficiently buying more expensive items in only needed quantities.

Measure Your Lawn

In order to properly plan for your lawn care needs, you need an accurate measurement of your lawn. The best way to do this is to map it out. If your lawn is rectangular, you don’t really need a map. Just multiply the width by the length of your lawn, and you’ll get the square footage. However, if your lawn has multiple lines, curves, and irregular shapes, a map is your best bet. Once you have everything measured, you can approximate your square footage by using a grid overlaid on the yard map to estimate how many square feet of lawn you have.

Think Long-Term

Right now, depending on the type of grass you have, it may be prudent to get some pre-emergent herbicide. However, you’ll also need post-emergent herbicides later in the year. Keep a list of materials you’ll need year-round, so you can take advantage of sales and price drops. It is easy to set a reminder on your computer to do a price check once in a while for things you’ll need in the future.

Think Options

A great benefit to online shopping is options, and when you’re ordering online, the options are almost limitless. Supporting local businesses is always preferred, but there are limitations to what they keep in stock. This is no longer an issue with online purchases.

Silver Lining to Internet Shopping

While you may not be able to get toilet paper or flour online or in your grocery store, you can get lawn care products online. The world hasn’t stopped, and neither have your gardening needs. If you’re stuck at home, you may just have a little more time to plan and shop accordingly.
