Last week we talked about how taking care of a lawn and doing the maintenance it requires takes quite a few different tools and some interesting equipment in order to keep things looking fabulous. Many lawn or garden projectsgarden tools.jpg require or are made easier by purchasing the right tool for the job, so we put together a list of some of the most common lawn and garden tools you might need if you are thinking about tackling some lawn or garden projects!

We talked about two of the most basic tools you would want to purchase in preparation for taking care of a lawn last week, a lawn mower and a weed eater. Both fairly important investments if you intend to keep a manicured lawn. What are some of the other equipment you might need, you ask? Read on below to find out!

Seed Spreader

These are extremely helpful items if you are going to be seeding a new lawn or even overseeding your lawn this fall. This allows for you to lay down an even layer of seed that covers more space, meaning less walking back and forth laying out seed. Seed spreaders come in a variety of options, the two most popular being handheld and a wheeled option that you push. If you intend to seed a large area, the wheeled option holds more and is more handy. This type of a tool also comes in useful when you are going to lay out fertilizer that is in a granular form. It makes the process simply and effective, just like laying seed.

Shovels, Rakes, and Other Garden Tools

The basic garden tools come in handy all around your lawn and garden throughout the years. Shovels make it easier to move dirt to fill in any uneven spots in your lawn or garden, which you can then seed with your seed spreader that you purchased! They also help you dig out any pesky weeds that are springing up in the lawn, driveway, or flowerbeds. Having a good sturdy rake is a great tool to have so you can rake out weeds, dead grass, leaves, and other debris that gets caught along fence lines or in flowerbeds. Garden hoes make it easier to pry weeds up by the root or make straight garden rows. Purchasing a high quality set of garden tools will definitely make your yard work a bit easier.
