There are so many options that are thrown at you when you start shopping for your first lawn mower. There are so many different types, functions, brands, andpush mower.jpg technologies to consider. To say the least, you may feel slightly overwhelmed. To help you navigate the tricky waters, here are some small guidelines to help you find just what you are looking for.

There are three general types of walk behind mowers to choose from. Gas-powered mowers, electric mowers, and manual reel mowers. Each type has its own perks and selling points but when it comes down to it, it is really what you need that will help you decide what you want, so let’s take a closer look at these options.

Gas-powered Mowers

Gas mowers are made for lawns that are about a half acre or less. It doesn’t really matter if your lawn in uneven, especially if you go for a self-propelled mower. Self-propelled just means that the mower can assist you in mowing, as it helps push the mower along. Gas-powered mowers are known to have high power and capable of handling thicker grass. There are options that allow for mulching and the bagging of clippings, which is nice for people who like to dispose of clippings easily.

Electric Mowers

These mowers are made for slightly smaller lawns than gas-powered machines. Electric mowers work well on lawns that are near one third an acre or smaller. They also work best on lawns that are flat. This is a great option for anyone trying to live a greener life as they have no emissions and they are very quiet to avoid unnecessary noise pollution. Electric mowers are generally very easy to start, have the option of being self-propelled, but they often have a more narrow cutting swath than gar-powered mowers. Which isn’t really a big deal since they are made for smaller yards. You can choose from different models that will bag and mulch clippings or simply discharge them.

3 Reasons why You may not be Mowing Correctly

Manual Reel Mowers

A manual reel mower is made for the smallest of lawns. Preferably less than a quarter of an acre. They do best on flat lawns with no hills in the landscaping. Manual reel mowers are very quiet and do not pollute the air with any emissions! Hello eco-friendly options. They require very little maintenance, which is a big bonus if you don’t want to spend time servicing a machine. They have limited options when it comes to models because of its very sleek and minimal design.
